Dollar Store Makeover

I bought a bunch of these plaques from the dollar store the other day
and they must have thought I was nuts! But I had a plan!

I brought them home and painted them to my hearts content...

Then I sanded up the edges and this beautiful red color popped through...I was super excited!

I added a cute little picture of my niece w/decoupage and I had some great little plaques
for the family wall. I think these could make some cute gifts come Christmas.

I can't decide if I like the blue or white better...what do you think? I think several of these would look very cute on a painted board or by themselves clustered on the wall. I wonder what else I can do with these...hmmmmm?

        ENJOY!

DIY Dog Sweatshirt

I made some easy little sweatshirts with appliques on them for the puppies!
Bo here is modeling a up cycled sweatshirt with an Army Camouflage heart on it.

While Diesel is sporting dad's favorite football team "The Raiders" wah wah wah! Go Packers!

"I've got my eye on you!"

A super easy design with a up cycled patch from dad's old shirt and unfinished edges.

See!
Lesson learned...think out your background before taking cute pictures
and get somewhere the lighting is good!

Drop Cloth Hop Scotch Mat

Yep, it's a Hop Scotch Mat made from a drop cloth! Ever since I made this project at Christmas last year, for my 7 year old niece, katelynn I have been finding all sorts of new projects to make with them. Coming soon! If you think about it...what kiddo dosen't like to jump, hop, skip, and bounce around? It's really a perfect gift. Especially for inside on those cold rainy days when everyone is getting a bit of cabin fever.

This is actually a knockoff version of a picture I found.

I changed a couple little things but I REALLY liked the original colors and design of the photo so I used that as my guide. But you can be as creative and funky as you want with this, remember it is a blank canvass! (8 Sorry that was my attempt for humor! LOL This was fun project as I reminisced about my hop scotching days. I've been thinking about making a couple more to have on hand as birthday gifts for some of cute kiddos I know.

You can find the tutorial and original post over at my old site kinzykateslilstitches blog. If you make one please share it and link back to snap.craft.sew. Thanks (8

Bokeh

I love me some creamy Bokeh! So you may or may not have figured out that I am NOT a professional (8 photographer, but it is important to have good, clear photos with good lighting when you are blogging. A good picture is worth a thousand words!

So, I have been practicing and learning to use my camera and as I do I share my pictures so I can look back and see how far I have come. Hopefully they inspire you to pull out your camera and start snappin' away.

This is Diesel, my Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix).

You can find more of my photo's here.

ENJOY!

Washer Dog Tags

Ok, so I'm stuck on washers and maybe you are too or maybe you don't know anything about them. Well let me start off with saying it's not anything new, but I am so fascinated by the possibilities of these small, inexpensive, disc and the things that you can do with them. Here is just one example.

Here is what you need:
Washers
Metal Stamps
Hammer
Sharpie
Cloth & Alcohol Rub

All I did was pick up (buy) a cheap set of metal stampers from Harbor Freight. They are on sale right now for $8.99. If you use the 20% off coupon you can get them for about $7. I think I only paid $5. when I bought mine. Super cheap!

I  laid my washers out on the garage floor and with my stamper in one hand and my hammer in the other I tap tap tapped away. I suggest doing a practice run first using a scrap piece of metal or another washer you don't plan to use for your project.

When you have the finished image on to your washer, take your sharpie and color in the image, then wipe off the excess ink with a damp cloth or use alcohol rub on a cloth and rub away any remaining ink. All that will be left is the ink inside the stamped image. (8

Have Fun and ENJOY!

Baby Buggy Card

Hi everyone this is a card I made recently for a baby shower I went to. I used the Cricut Wild Card Cartridge to make the card. The Cartridge has many fun cards and matching envelopes to make along with them.

I used K & Company card stock and paper. I used rub on lettering for the front and inside of the card by Making Memories.

I also used Dot n Go raised Glue Dots to make the scalloped edge here have a 3D effect ...

and of course my new Copic markers for finishing touches.

ENJOY!
