Port Orchard, Washington

Just playing with the new camera at my parents house in Port Orchard.

These are way Blown Out but I still thought they were interesting. You should actually see the ocean there across the road.

Roses on a gate.

My husband being a good sport.

Can you see the heart? This large piece of driftwood sits in the garden at the front of the house.

Boy, I wish you could see the water like I intended.

Going for the opposite shot.

Again way blown out, I'm just learning but I knew the light was going to be an issue for me. These are blackberry bushes below...they grow like weeds and usually are an annoyance. I try to help out when I am in town and pick as many as I can...mmmmm mmmmm they are delicious!

ENJOY!

Lux Baby Burpies

Super easy Lux baby Burpies. I say Lux because these are made with a lush hot pink minky on one side and a black and white brocade cotton print on the other side. Very boutique if you ask me.

I just made some fabric labels with T-shirt iron on paper, then ironed them on to ribbon which I used here. You can see more here.

I couldn't decide on a shape for the burpies so I tried a few different shapes before really liking this one.  These were the hardest thing to take a picture of for me, it became frustrating and I finally had to walk away, but I think the pictures show them pretty well.

See the lush pink fabric is thick and really soft just like minky fabric.

ENJOY!

Minky baby blanket

So many babies, sew little time. I dont know about you, but it sure seems like everyone is having a bundle of joy these days...here is a minky baby blanket and matching burp cloth set I made over the weekend.

I paired it with a crocheted baby blanket my Aunt Laurie made and tada...the perfect baby shower gift. My Aunt Laurie is one talented lady...I think she can make just about anything! I love this waffle weave design...one of the many styles she creates. My crocheting talent goes as far as a dish scrubby pad, which I just learned to make. Crocheted waffle weave blanket will go onto my bucket list.

All tied up with a ribbon and even my husband said, "WOW that's a nice gift!" Thank you honey. He's my biggest fan. (8

I added one of my new fabric labels I made here  ...so the person can remember where it came from.

Tryston is going to be one happy, warm & comfy little guy! Congratulations Katelyn & Robert! Now off to make another baby shower gift for this coming weekend and yes IT'S A BOY!

                                                                             ENJOY!

DIY Fabric Labels

I decided to try to make my own fabric labels the other day and well, this is how they turned out...

They were simple to make as I already had everything on hand.

A little iron on transfer paper from Joann's, a bit of twill tape I have been gathering from different places...some was wrapped around a blanket I bought a while ago and another large piece came with my camera bag, I had a container of repurposed draw strings, I also used ribbon from my stash.

A little Fray Check and a lighter for the unruly edges. A hot iron and a clean white cloth to seal the image and remove any leftover residue.

These are my favorite. They look clean and simple, the color is neutral to match any project, this fabric is very soft and breathable. I think they would look great on any project.

They can be attached by sewing them on, or ironing them on by first adding therm-o-web to back. I plan to sew them on by turning the edges under first then top stitching all the way around.

  ENJOY!
